It\u2019s a magical time of celebration with friends and family for many of us. The smell of mince pies is in the air and our schedules are busy. As we let down our hair for Christmas, often we find ourselves surrounded by temptations that make it difficult to stick to our usual fitness and eating plans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While we\u2019re partial to a Christmas pudding or New Years dance floor at <\/span><b>bulk\u2122<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, taking care of our health and wellbeing is paramount. It\u2019s important to find a balance during this time to bring in the new year feeling our best. We looked to an expert, no other than #teambulk\u2019s Sophie Aris for her favourite festive season recipe and tips for staying fit and healthy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019m Sophie, a <\/span><b>bulk\u2122<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> athlete and wellness &amp; lifestyle content creator. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When I think of a festive recipe, it&#8217;s got to be gingerbread men! Here\u2019s my go-to healthy(ish) recipe for you to try yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Sophie\u2019s Festive Gingerbread Men Recipe<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>INGREDIENTS<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">250g <\/span><b>bulk\u2122<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bulk.com\/uk\/products\/ultra-fine-scottish-oats\/bpb-oats-0000\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ultra fine oats<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">30g rolled oats<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">2 tsp ground ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tsp nutmeg<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1\/2 tsp baking powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">80g <\/span><b>bulk\u2122<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bulk.com\/uk\/products\/triple-nut-butter\/bpf-tnut-smoo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> triple nut butter<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 egg<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">50g brown sugar\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">120g unsalted butter<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>METHOD<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Preheat oven to 180\u2103<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a bowl, add in all the dry ingredients. Then, add the wet ingredients and mix well into a cookie dough consistency.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use your hands to roll into a ball, wrap in cling film and leave in the fridge for 20 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On some parchment paper, roll around a 1\/3 of the dough out (with a rolling pin) to around 1\/2 cm thick. (You can make it thicker if you like your cookies like that!)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use a gingerbread man or regular cookie cutter to create the cookie shapes that you wish and add them to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bake in the oven for around 8-12 mins. I love to go for walks to keep active in-between all the eating!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>A HEALTHY START\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nothing makes me feel better than starting the day with a bowl of oats &amp; berries or poached eggs on toast.
