BULK POWDERS (BP): James, you\u2019re probably sick of questions now so we\u2019ll keep this short.
\nJames DeGale (JDG): Actually, I don\u2019t mind. I enjoy interacting with the press \u2013 I appreciate they\u2019ve taken the time to come and see me.
\nBP: You don\u2019t find it a chore?
\nJDG: No, not at all.<\/p>\n
Pressure<\/h2>\n
BP: A common theme running throughout your interviews, has been your quest to become the first British boxer to win an Olympic gold medal for GB and also a professional world title. Do you find that\u2019s creating extra pressure on you? Surely there\u2019s enough pressure with a world title fight as it is.
\nJDG: I\u2019d say it brings extra motivation rather than extra pressure.
\nBP: You don\u2019t feel any extra pressure?
\nJDG: Of course, there is pressure. I\u2019m used to dealing with pressure though. My fight against Periban was a lot of pressure \u2013 I was voluntarily fighting a top level guy and I was putting my shot at a world title on the line. An Olympic final is a lot of pressure \u2013 it\u2019s not unusual for me.<\/p>\n
Training<\/h2>\n
BP: This has been a long training camp for you \u2013 how are you feeling?
\nJDG: Boxers always say this, but I feel fantastic. I\u2019ve taken a week off during camp and have ensured I\u2019m getting the right amount of rest.
\nBP: You look in good shape \u2013 what do you put this down to?
\nJDG: Lots of things \u2013 I\u2019ve got a bit fitter and a bit stronger every camp I\u2019ve done. This is my 22nd fight so that\u2019s a lot of improvements. My weight is better for this fight than it has ever been \u2013 training and having my nutrition spot on has put me in a good place. I\u2019ve been living like a hermit for ages now!<\/p>\n

\nJDG: An important part. My trainer, Jim McDonnell, works me hard and two things he\u2019s always drilling in to me are nutrition and recovery. Without those two, the training will suffer.
\nBP: What products have you used for this camp?
\nJDG: A fair few, but my favourites have been Pure Whey Protein<\/a>\u2122 (I love Banana Fudge!) and Protein Porridge<\/a>\u2122.<\/p>\nPre-Fight Plans<\/h2>\n
\nJDG: I fly to Miami in a few days to finish training camp and then head to Boston a few days before the fight.
\nBP: What will your training look like for the rest of camp?
\nJDG: I\u2019ll have to see what Jim\u2019s got in store for me! A lot of the hard work is done, but there are still a few tough sessions to go!
