Ahiflower® produces vegan omega fatty acids sourced from the seeds of the Buglossoides arvensis plant, a plant-based source of omega-rich oil. The result is this 100% vegan essential fatty acid supplement, providing the whole range of Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids:
Omega 3:
Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA) The most common form of omega 3 fatty acid, found in seeds and plants. ALA can be converted by the body into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), and contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels*.
Stearidonic Acid (SDA) A less common form of omega 3 fatty acid, which can be converted by the body into ALA, EPA and DHA.
Omega 6:
Linoleic Acid (LA) An omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, typically sourced in the diet from nuts and seeds.
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) Another form of omega 6 fatty acid, found in hemp seeds and evening primrose oil.
Omega 9Oleic Acid A monounsaturated fatty acid which is common in a regular diet, found in foods including olive oil and avocados.
